5 Things you Can Do When your Life Sucks

Feel like there’s a little personal rain cloud over your head all the time? Does it feel like your life sucks and isn’t going anywhere you want it to go? You’re not alone. Millions around the world are feeling exactly what you are, probably worse, and believe it or not, there’s actually a lot you can do about it.

Read on to discover 5 things you can do when you feel like your life sucks.

Be Grateful for Small Things

The first, and probably the most important step of all is to practise gratitude every single day. Yes, even on the bad days. Find the teeniest of things in your life that you’re thankful for, and state them out loud or whisper them to yourself.

Do it every night before you fall asleep and the first thing in the morning. Remind yourself that no matter what, there’s always, always something to be grateful for.

Quit the Blame Game

Ask yourself what’s the reason your life sucks, and you’ll almost always have an answer specifying a particular person or situation.

When you’re hurt, you’ll naturally look for someone to blame, but most of us hardly ever realise that we actually just need to assess ourselves.

Most of the time, the reason we feel stuck and in a sucky place is because we took the steps to get there.

It is okay to have a bad day sometimes- everyone has them and life will never be perfect the way you want it to!

Remind Yourself it is Temporary

No matter where you are, remind yourself that your current condition isn’t permanent, and that things will change and get better with time.

Just because one week didn’t do how you want it to doesn’t mean all the weeks of the month are going to be the same. Give things time, and give yourself the mental comfort of knowing that.

Let it Out

Keeping your emotions and feelings bottled inside is a big no-no, and when you’re feeling stuck in life, it can be easy to get caught up in overwhelming negative and anxious thoughts.

A good  way to tackle this is to let it out. You could talk to a supportive friend or a family member who you feel comfortable with. If that’s not something you want to do, journaling or painting can help.

Keep Going

One of the easiest ways to invite the magic back into your life is to never give up and keep going. Do whatever it is that you want to do, and the things that make you happy.

When you start living life with the passion and energy that drives you, you find yourself surrounded with new opportunities and happiness.

Follow these simple steps, and remember to take things one at a time. Do whatever it is that you can to make your life better than it is right now, and then let go!

Strive to keep yourself happy and live in the present moment without obsessing over the past or the future.
