Seeing My Child through the Lens when I’m Unwell
Recently we went to London for medical tests and for me to start my trial of the Adrenal Pump. While I was stuck in the hospital building having a day curve test, John and Sylvia went out to enjoy the warm weather and I couldn’t be more happier for them. When John takes photos I still get to see my child through the lens even when I’m unwell and that is something special.
Sylvia and John decided to walk through Regents Park. While walking through the park, they came across some squirrels and John took some brilliant photos.
Like any curious child, Sylvia decided she would try and get close them. One of the squirrels also became curious and wanted to see what all the fuss was about. He and Sylvia got very close to one another.
When John and Sylvia came back she was so excited to tell me about the adventure with the squirrels and show me all the photos. The photography by John is fabulous and I could not resist sharing this.
It was beautiful to see the photos, even though I was unable to go on the adventure and I particularly love the shot below.
John is getting better at photography and it’s beautiful to see what my child gets up to and see the world through the lens, even when I’m too unwell to go places myself.ย
Those are amazing pictures! I hope the trial with the pump went well x
Thanks Nikki. So far so good!
Sorry to hear that you’re not well, those pictures are super cute though! xx
Thanks Olivia. I love them too. The squirrels are Gorgeous.
What a gift that is being given to you! As someone with chronic illness, there are many days that I feel left out and just sad because I can’t attend. I always feel so loved when people take the time to include me when I can’t include myself.
Thanks Muffi. It is hard being unwell and missing out but my husbands photography is a true gift.
It’s awful when you can’t spend time with the kids due to illness. I’m glad you can still see all the wonderful things she gets up to, even when you can’t be with her! ๐
Oh it is tough and not easy and something we are learning to live with.
Wow John did a great job capturing those! We fed some squirrels in a park last year, it was great! They were sitting on our legs and everything! Amazing creatures! It looks like your daughter had a great time ๐ xx
He sure did. I love my hubby’s photography and he is teaching me too.
What gorgeous photos and I agree, the one of Sylvia and the squirrel is beautiful! This is the gift of photography – capturing the moments we might just miss and being able to experience what has happened when we are unable to. I hope everything goes well with the pump and you get to be out and about with your lovely family soon.
Thanks for sharing!

Thanks. i just loved the pictures and really wanted to share. The pump is going well. Now to fundraise and find a way to fund the rest of the medication.
It’s nice that you could see the day they were having even though you weren’t with them x
It so true. Thats what I love about John doing photography. I get to see glimpses of my child’s day even when I’m not there.
It myst be very strange to see the experience through another way. I am glad you got to see there adventure through Regents park though and I hope you are better soon xx
Yes it is really strange but im used to it now.
It looks like they had a fun walk in the park. They took some lovely photo’s there ๐
Thanks Melanie. I cant believe how close they got to the squirrels.
