How to make a Linky Badge

guide to creating pin badge and script

I originally wrote this post back in May 2015. However the script I was using did not work for all bloggers. I had a few messages from people and decided to take my post down until I had time to investigate the problem.I’ve now updated the post and wish to specify that this Grab badge, linky solution is specifically for WordPress users.

With this said this is how to make a pin badge or linky badge and grab box for your WordPress Blog.

Design your Picture

First of all, you need a picture or design in JPeg form. There are a number of websites available to do this. I like to use PicMonkey. You can sign up for a free trial or pay around £2.99 for a monthly subscription.

Upload your Image to your WordPress Media Library.

You need to upload your jpeg image to your blog’s photo/media file. Your blog will then allocate the image a URL. You will then need to save this URL.

I have highlighted my image URL in pink to make it easy to view.

Finding a Jpeg Url

Next Cut and paste the Script below.

<div align=”center” style=”padding: 5px;”>
<pre style=”background:#f0f0f0;border: solid 1px #cccccc; color: #000000; font-size:90%; height: 50px; margin:auto; text-align: left; padding: 10px; display: block; overflow: auto; white-space: pre-wrap; width: 90%;”>

Replace the pink text with your own text and URL

Swap out my my Jpeg Image URL for your own Jpeg URL

Replace my Blog name Daysinbed.com with your blog name.

Replace my blog URL https://www.daysinbed.com with your blog URL

You will now have your own script for your pin badge or linky badge and the grab box.

The next step is to cut and paste this script into a Text Widget or onto your blog page.

Now the task is done!

Here is my New Blog Badge and Grab Box.

Daysinbed.com

Don’t forget this is a solution for WordPress users only.
